Anti-Trump Campaigns

Donald Trump is everywhere. His face is plastered over every newspaper and website on a daily basis, and it's impossible to escape him. Here in the UK, we are able to see his idiocy (seemingly blatant), as well as watch his painfully awkward attempts to try and appeal to the American people from a distance. However, he still somehow manages to rally a huge section of US citizens behind him, something which, to us, is spellbindingly un-understandable.

Having watched the presidential debates thus far, they are made up of a series of personal attacks. There is apparently no need to discuss policy or plans, and instead have focused on the personality faults of the two contenders. As an outsider, you can't even fully understand what each candidate stands for as their political beliefs seem to be hidden behind the toddler-esque arguing that occurs every time these two are in the same room.

Anyway, moving on.

Brands and celebrities have exploited this situation to their advantage, producing satirical and humourous anti-Trump campaigns across the board. And, these are some of my favourites.

Firstly, a star-studded cast headed by Robert Downey Jr. appeared in an anti-Trump YouTube plea to the public, begging them not to vote for the blonde businessman. In a video in which they mock their own stardom, discussing how they are simply placing a "shit load of" famous faces in the video to give it credibility, it ends up with Mark Ruffalo mistakenly agreeing to strip to the nude in his next film. Check it out here, it's entertaining.

Secondly, and less satirical but actually blunt and punchy, Robert De Niro released a video of himself underlining Trump's sheer bigotry, plainly stating that he wants to punch him straight in the face. This is also a good watch, here.

Finally (and by no means the last, there are hundreds), my favourite campaign has come from Gourmet Burger Kitchen in the UK, and is currently omnipresent in London; on tubes, billboards, bus-stops etc. It is the simplicity that works, and their posters state Vote Rump: it's our thickest burger ever. You can see the OOH campaign below.
