Ice Cube in Oliver Twist?
"Please can I have some more sir?"; so goes the famous line from Dickens' iconic novel.
We've all seen the play, been involved in a school production, or maybe even read the book for English GCSE. One thing's for sure, Oliver Twist is one of the most quintessentially english pieces of literature ever written, and will be onstage in the West End for many years to come.
Now, Disney have revealed that they will try their hand at a new interpretation of the novel, and will be producing a 'modern musical'. This will be the first Disney version since their 1988 animated feature; Oliver and Company.
The big news though? It has been revealed that Ice Cube, yes, Ice Cube, the co-founder of N.W.A. and successful hip-hop artist, will be playing the character of Fagin. If that doesn't get you excited about Oliver Twist then nothing will. No trailer yet, but be sure to keep your eyes peeled for Ice Cube's rendition of You've got to pick a pocket or two, it will be superb.
For now, here he is, in all his glory, in 21 & 22 Jump Street.
