The Importance of Family feat. Dolmio
Dolmio have brought out a clever, experiential campaign on YouTube to try and promote family dinner-times, and to dissuade kids from simply sitting glued in front of their screens.
There's nothing worse than watching kids in a restaurant sit there brainlessly playing on an iPad, paying no attention to their Mum or Dad, and offering zero conversation. To put it bluntly, it is just very sad. Kids need to try and stimulate conversation, and engage with their siblings and parents, even if they're just talking about their day at school or the X Factor; it simply doesn't matter.
Dolmio have taken this insight and introduced the Dolmio Pepper Hacker - a pepper grinder that, when clicked, blocks all wifi in the vicinity. The advert shows how hooked kids are to their tablets by swapping mums, sisters, brothers and paintings at the dinner table without so much as a shrug from the eye-glued child. Once the Pepper Hacker is used, you can see the children come out of their own little virtual world, and start to appreciate what's actually around them in funny realisations.
