Christmas Nostalgia & Hype


With the new John Lewis ad due to (potentially according to Twitter) launch tomorrow morning, Christmas advertising hype is through the roof. What better time to look at the best from last year.

The typical brands delivered, with John Lewis’ Man on the Moon spot having huge success for both the brand and the agency (adam&eveDDB) and Sainsbury’s’ cat Mog also putting a smile on people’s faces. However, it was in Spain that the best-in-class Christmas ad was released on behalf of the Spanish National Lottery.

You’ve probably seen it, but here’s the link to rewatch the moving advert about fan-favourite Justino; a security guard who works the night shift at a mannequin factory. It’s touching, sweet and filled with festivity; exactly what you need ahead of the John Lewis ad in the morning.
