Qulture has eXXcellent news for you this morning (not just the release of the new John Lewis ad) to cheer you up from whatever’s getting you down.

After teasing us in the last few weeks with short 55-second snippets, the XX have finally released a new single On Hold this morning and it is absolutely fantastic. Typcially XX-esque (that’s very hard to say out loud) with a nice deep bassline coupled with the echoed vocals of both Romy and Oliver, which, as ever, complement each other excellently with their strange yet perfect melodies. Typically late-night and moody, it sounds like the XX will be back to their very best on their next album.
