Love Le Baiser
Projection art is having a sort of renaissance at the
moment, and seems to be everywhere. Another iteration for you, this time in
Paris, and this time to do with love entitled Le Baiser. Aw.
Parisian street artist Julien Nonnon decided to pursue a
positive, warm project around his hometown hoping to engage people and give
them a small dose of happiness. Using cinematography as his medium, Nonnon
captured footage of hundreds of different couples around Paris in the act of
kissing before projecting this footage in huge-scale all over the city.
What he achieved was a moment of surprise and delight when
passers-by looked up to find an inordinately happy (all of the footage is
filled with smiles and joy) and enormous-scale couple kissing each other on the
wall, building, statue, or even in the middle of the Louvre fountains. For an
intimate moment such as this to be projected publically in such large scale
automatically brings a smile to your face. When asked why he wanted to do a
project like this, Julien answered simply: “love breaks down all cultural and
sexual boundaries, it is life”.
A good philosophy, and one that looks absolutely stunning
projected all over the beautiful streets of Paris. Check out some photos below.
