Mulberry's Grand Budapest Hotel
Mulberry have produced a weird and wonderful video campaign
in time for Christmas.
The quirky advert is written by Hugo Guinness, most
well-known for his work on The Grand Budapest
Hotel, and the clip is of a similar ilk. A bunch of kids take the roles of
a traditional English family at Christmas, re-enacting the familiar discussions
and preparations that go on each year. In a similar fashion to Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom the short story is a
slightly surreal experience; watching a typically adult scene being unnervingly
acted out by children always would be, but it has a great underlying, slightly
sinister humour.
The even better news? This is only Part 1, with Part 2 yet
to be released. There is a dark tension building in this clip and all will
hopefully be revealed when the sequel comes out.
It’s a great watch, satisfyingly amusing, have a watch here.
