Canal's Weird & Wonderful Kitchen
First up, this article is not about canals, so get out of here if you hoped to read about flowing water.
The French broadcasting network Canal recently had a big ol' shake down and restructuring within the business and they wanted people to know about it. So, instead of writing a dull, spineless article in the broadcasting journals and letting people nonchalantly find out about it for themselves, they decided to make a punchy statement.
How? With The Kitchen.
With the help of their friends at BETC Paris, they have produced an inspiring, quirky advert, which shows off the vast range of content their channels offer. The analogous kitchen uses hundreds of different ingredients (films, TV shows, sports matches etc.) to create the delightful end product. The creativity behind this ad is quite astonishing and it is beautfiully put together; chefs seamlessly grate police cars and crack open T-rex eggs (it sounds more than bizarre but watch it and you'll understand).
What's more, the underlying comical violence behind it all makes it very entertaining; all of these characters are either being dismembered or shredded or boiled yet the ad remains totally light-hearted and blasé about it.
Have a watch here, it's excellent.
