Eating off the floor
Black and Decker have just pulled off a quirky, innovative
publicity stunt in Antwerp to promote one of their new products.
Calling in some of the top chefs from around the world, advertising
agency These Days opened a pop-up restaurant in an old post-office. Nothing
quirky about that, granted, this is standard procedure for many brands.
However, there were no tables at this restaurant.
No tables at all. In fact, the invitees were served their
food on “a bed of tiles” aka they ate off the floor. The beautiful gourmet food
was served up in front of them straight onto the floor, arranged just as
delicately as if on a plate but just with this unhygienic twist. Why?
Well, this is what Black and Decker wanted to prove. It’s not unhygienic. In fact, it’s just as hygienic
as a plate thanks to the new Black and Decker Steam Mop.
A fun piece of advertising and something I would have loved
to be a part of. Check out the video here, the food looks incredible.
