Nike take us back to basics



Nike are a quintessential advertising powerhouse and have created some of the most memorable adverts in the last 10 years. What’s more, they seem to bring out incredible new content every week.

Well, that certainly hasn’t changed.

Their most recent piece takes a new tack, featuring zero sporting ambassadors, featuring zero sporting shots, featuring zero cinematography in fact. So, what does this feature?

Text. Simple, unadulterated, fast-changing text.
Text that tells a story, a story of the amount of time we are all wasting and squandering every single day.
How much time do you spend scrolling Facebook? How much pleasure do you gain from this? The answer is probably zero.  

Stop it. Nike implore you. Watch this ad and then make an effort to stop expending useless hours flicking through a pointless feed. We are all guilty of it.

Get on with it.
