The Polish Grandfather

Poland could steal the Christmas advertising crown with their lovely, heart-warming advert that has just been released by a Polish auction website.  

In the ad, a Polish grandfather makes it his utmost goal to learn English in order to be able to communicate with his son’s family over in the UK for Christmas. We are privvy to the struggle the old man faces when challenged with the task of a completely new language; humorous mistakes, determination, duologues with rubber ducks in the bath and a whole load of post-it notes make this ad extremely funny. Meanwhile,  the viewer is increasingly moved as we realise the extent of the effort he is making in the name of the love he has for his son.

In fact, the ad is very reminscent of a spot of a similar ilk that was released in South Africa a number of years ago for Bell's Whisky. Another one that tugs on the heartstrings, check this one out just in time for your family Christmas here.
