Fake Adidas
Students often make the best pieces of cinematography. Their
liberal, lawless spirits and creative minds are still free from corporate
tropes and stereotypes and so the videos they produce are often exceptional.
This has been proven yet again by Eugen Merher who has
created an advert for adidas, completely unprovoked and with no actual ties to
the brand. In fact, adidas barely responded when he sent it to them, which
seems brainless given the high calibre of this piece.
Merher chooses an old people’s home as the setting for his
short story, looking at the frustration of an elderly man who used to be a
marathon runner back in the day. Without ruining the plot, the spot is
touching, moving and will have you shouting at your laptop screen with jubilation
by the end.
Have a look here and you’ll understand why adidas have
seriously missed a trick not hiring this guy. Keep creating Eugen, it will
definitely not be long before someone snaps you up.
