Fake Fried Chicken
Things are getting trendily out of hand: a vegan fried
chicken shop has opened in Hackney. Mind-blowing stuff right? How the f*** does
that work?
Well, the shop is run by The Temple of Seitan; a vegan brand,
and they use a meat substitute called seitan to replace the chicken. Seitan is
essentially made from wheat protein powder and then seasoned to taste just like
whatever meat takes your fancy. From personal experience, it really does taste
good and more than just taste, it also has a great texture unlike certain other
meat substitutes that have cropped up since the Vegan Revolution began.
So, any meat-loving vegans out there who want to satisfy
their deepest darkest desire, get yourselves over to Hackney and tuck into some
fried seitan.
