Justin Vernon & The Staves cover Jolene
Back in September last year, Michaelberger, Berlin organised
a gig in an atmosphere that truly reflected the way music should be enjoyed.
A secret programme for a lucky, selected 5000 people was put
on in the German town, during which indie artists from all over the world
gathered to play, collaborate, relax and enjoy themselves. What it resulted in
was a chilled, laid-back ambiance during which some of the most talented
artists were able to release their creativity and inspire each other. Picture Radio
1’s Live Lounge, just with oodles more originality, imagination and pazang.
Secret until now, videos have now been released of the best
moments from the festival, including a fantastic collaboration between Bon Iver’s
Justin Vernon and The Staves. Good friends off the stage, the intimate nature
of their relationship shines through in the informal, carefree cover of Ray
LaMontagne’s Jolene, which they do brilliantly and clearly love every minute.
Check it out here and have a browse at some of the other
snippets from the nonchalant festival.
