Quell the Valentine's Day Dread
Dreading Valentine’s Day? Aren’t we all.
Well, luckily Netflix (as per usual) are here to help. They
have revealed that Girlfriend’s Day
will be released on February 14th to help anyone in need of an
anti-depressant for the evening.
Sound like the usual soppy drivel? Quite the opposite. Girlfriend’s Day looks to be a cutting,
blunt and relatively dark film whose protagonist is a pessimistic, card-writing
widow; ironically he also writes romantic cards. With the line “I hate
optimistic people” appearing in the trailer, you know it’s going to be very apt
for its timely release. It looks weird, wonderful, confusing and bizarre; a
wacky, unusual piece of cinematography.
Have a look at the trailer here and hopefully it helps quell
the depressing chronophobia as the 14th draws near.
