David Brent Gets Spicy

Circa. October 2016, we wrote an article on the up-and-coming YouTube phenomenon, Hot Ones: the short, bitesize chat show that combines interesting interviews with f***ing hot chicken wings. As the host and interviewee chat away, they eat a series of increasingly hot chicken wings resulting in an ever-more-painful, sizzling mouth for both parties. It’s a great idea and a fun combination.

There have been a number of excellent episodes but none have come close to the below, starring one of Qulture’s all-time favourite comedians and the genius behind the man, the legend, David Brent. In a joyous turn of events, Ricky Gervais was asked to join the show in what is an hilarious 20-minute discussion.

They discuss everything from Brent vs. Trump and their comparative narcissistic tendencies, to Gervais’ famous bath selfies, to Ricky’s immense arachnophobia and encyclopaedic knowledge of his most-hated animal. As always, he is hilarious and watching him squirm as he attempts to eat the hottest wings that exist (seitan not chicken as Ricky is a vegan) is sadistically one of the best things we’ve seen in a while.
