Sampha

A simple and beautiful new music video from the up-and-coming musician Sampha.

His music has taken the world by storm and his autobiographical song No One Knows Me Like the Piano gives us an insight into his roots. Singing about the piano in his mother’s home, this is a fully stripped-back, stunning demonstration of the singer’s incredible voice. The video reflects the bare nature of the song juxtaposing two uncomplicated elements: Sampha playing his piano and Adwoa Aboah (the British model) dancing.

The one subtle and effective cinematographic technique that is utilised is the long-exposure element in the filming of Aboah. Whilst dancing it seems as though a thin layer of sand is escaping her body, morphing and twisting with her movements giving a dreamlike ambiance to the clip.
