X-Ray Photography
An English photographer named Nick Veasey has shaken up the photography world with a new, innovative technique using X-rays.
Having been a commercial photographer since the age of 30, Veasey recently discovered X-rays and he has never looked back. Now based in an Cold War base in Kent to ensure the dangerous studio is kept far away from his home, he creates incredible images using the medical cameras. His hugely experimental technique means for each photo he uses an opulence of different angles and settings, each time hoping to achieve the perfect shot.
Unfortunately, due to the dangerous nature of the X-rays, he can only use inanimate objects for his pieces. However, post-mortem, many people dedicate their bodies to medical research or to art, and he is able to thus use corpses for certain photos to incorporate a human element into his work.
Sounds a bit creepy doesn't it? Well, yes, but the results are fantastic. Check out some of his work below and his website here.
