Converse go underground
Converse have gone full-on, nitty-gritty street-style in
their latest short-film for Forever Chuck jumping on the street bandwagon that
is so prevalent in the contemporary fashion industry.
Additionally, they have called upon some of the most famous
young, cult acting talent around town. Games
Of Thrones star Maisie Williams makes an appearance alongside Stranger Things phenomenon Millie Bobby
Brown as well as an eclectic variety of other icons.
In what is a purposefully disjointed, stop-start short, we
are treated to a number of different scenes in disparate environments, all
nicely filmed, portraying the à la mode,
underground culture of the moment. It’s a stylish piece, not quite perfect, but
marks a shift away from the traditional converse model of the last few years.
The inclusion of stars such as Williams and Bobby Brown does give it a youth
and cult feel, with the music echoing the popularity of the grime genre right
now.
Cool from Converse, will be interesting to see what’s next. Also,
shout out to the random inclusion of the parrot at the end, a star in the
making. Check it out here.
