Mercedes-Benz: Grow Up
A punchy, atypical Mercedes-Benz ad dropped yesterday and we’re
loving it.
Entitled Grow Up,
the spot analyses what it means to grow up. Start a family, move to the
suburbs, mind your manners, respect your elders, get a real job, the list goes
on.
What’s great about the advert? The fast, lightning-pace of
the clip, which bounces along at the speed of light matching its counterpart
soundtrack. That’s the first thing. Secondly, the quirky, amazingly eclectic
cinematography; each shot barely lasts two seconds, whether it’s day, night, city,
countryside, the audience is treated to a visual plethora of different scenes
and has to battle to keep up (in a good way). Finally, this piece oozes a
definitive aura of cool and makes you want to watch it over and over again.
The new, aspirational and ambitious campaign from the car
brand will go on throughout the year continuing this theme of growing up. What’s
more, this spot comes alongside multiple other short films that dive deeper specific
stages of getting older.
Check the spot out here, it’s great.
