Dancing Textures
Today, a simply incredible piece of video content for you to enjoy.
Conceptualised by Method Design, the content was created to celebrate the AICP Awards, which recognise global creativity and production. Using motion capture and simulation, the team used dancing avatars to create dynamic and energetic movement, which was subsequently animated and texturised with a series of beautiful and unusual materials.
Set to Major Lazer’s upbeat track Light it Up, the weird and wonderful fabrics playfully and vigorously spin, jump and whirl their way around the bodies of the dancers, sometimes so much so that the figure simply dissolves into nothingness or splurges onto the floor. What’s more, the vibrant, brilliant colours on show are a joy to behold. Combine the sheer elation of the dancing, the palpable feel of the textures, the scintillating colour palette of the video, and the buoyant nature of the soundtrack, and you’ve got something you quite simply have to watch.
