Ink In Motion
Today, a simple equation for you: Ink + Water = Mesmerising.
Of a similar ilk to the Sherwin-Williams spot we covered
here at Qulture that debuted a few weeks ago, The Macro Room have taken
this concept to a whole new level in their most recent video. The Macro Room is a
small group of filmmakers dedicated to visually showing the hidden beauty of our world through their slow-motion, high definition
short films and Ink In Motion, which
was released a few days ago, is their latest utterly hypnotic piece of content.
Set to a dramatic, classical soundtrack, it begins
with two artists standing behind a simple fish tank filled with water. Introducing
a variety of different coloured inks into the water, they proceed to recreate otherworldly
scenes in the tank itself, filmed in ultra-high definition and visually
demonstrating how the inks interact with different objects as well as how they
clash and interplay amongst themselves. The colours are stunningly vivid and
each time two or more collide underwater a cacophony of new, striking colours come ablaze, all within a matter of nanoseconds.
What’s more, three different scenarios are brought to life
inside the tank: the Solar System, a city, and a flower. Each object is placed
in the tank at the mercy of these spectacular inks and provokes a different
aesthetic entirely. The Solar System provokes a fluid movement of colour across
the tank much like the Milky Way itself, whilst the city experiences a
bomb-like explosion of colour that filters sinisterly through the miniature streets.
Enough babbling, you just need to watch it, check out the
video here. Utterly inspiring video content for any budding filmmaker with a
simple but aesthetically beautiful ending to the video (at 3:00).
