The Lunchbox
A lovely piece of advertising has come out of Norway this
week, aiming to recruit more foster homes for orphaned children.
Entitled The Lunchbox,
the spot uses a very simple idea to deliver their message, and they do it in a
lovely, charming manner. It opens on a shot of a child at school opening his
lunchbox at his desk, visibly sad when he discovers that it’s empty. After a
number of sombre scenes of the little boy wandering around alone at school, we
return to a repeat of the opening shot, but this time his lunchbox is filled to
the brim. Not just that, but it turns out it has been filled by all of the kids
around him at school. His subsequent grin will hit you straight to the core.
Ending with the tagline Solutions
are often closer than you think, it’s a sensitively filmed, elegant
piece of content.
